GUITARIST

Stéphane started playing guitar at 15, after which it quickly became his job. This was followed by many performances in clubs, with several cover and original bands.

A few years later, he became Rachid Taha's main guitarist, and toured together for 5 years all over the world. It was during one of Rachid's concerts that he actually experienced a moment that would mark him for a long time:  

« In the middle of the tour, during a festival with Rachid, we were missing a bass player. And it's John Paul Jones, Led Zeppelin's bassist - who luckily was there that evening - who agreed to join us on stage and play with us. It was a huge surprise and an amazing moment! »

In his many years in the business, Stéphane has had the opportunity to work with many talented and renowned artists such as Rachid Taha, Mick Jones, Joyce Jonathan, Amandine Bourgeois, Nâdiya, Christophe Willem, Sofia Mestari, Charlotte Marin and Emma Chaplain.

« I remember from my earliest childhood, in Guadeloupe, how much I had fun playing Caribbean tones on tables and pans. »

That was the beginning of his love affair with music.  

He later received his first drum kit at age 11, and at 14 he played his version of his idols Dave Weckl, Omar Hakim and Dennis Chambers's styles in the studio. Self-taught, he learned the rhythms Zouk, Reggae, Funk, Kompa, Salsa, Afro Beat.

When he arrived in France metropol, Gregory perfected his style by actively participating in World, Jazz and Gospel groups.

During his long career, Gregory had the opportunity to work with a number of notorious artists such as Amel Bent, Salif Keita, Matt Houston, Miss Dominique, Ayo, Zouk Machine, Franky Vincent, Slai, Oumou Sangare, Andy Narell, or Joby Smith.
